JSC: April 20, 2026
April isn't over yet.
And before we start looking ahead to May, we want to make sure we're making the most of the time that's still in front of you. One week is more than enough to shift a conversation, land an interview, make a connection, or simply reset your mindset heading into the final stretch.
This week we're talking about how to measure the progress you've already made, why the way you finish a month matters just as much as how you start the next one, and how to use these last few days of April with intention.
There's also some exciting things on the horizon for the JSC Community and the South Florida community as a whole. Stay tuned for new resources and details!
OK, so there's a lot in motion. Let's get into it.
Mindset Monday: Progress Isn't Always Loud
Take a look around you right now.
Some of you have landed roles this month. Some of you are deep in the interview process. Some of you are still searching. And some of you feel like you're starting over from scratch.
Same timeline. Different realities.
And yet, one of the most common things we hear across all of those situations is the same: I feel like I'm not making progress.
That's not a strategy problem. That's a measurement problem.
When we only count outcomes, offers, and titles, we miss everything that actually builds toward them. The conversation you had that opened a new door. The clarity you gained about what you actually want. The habit you built around showing up consistently even when motivation was low. Those things count. They just don't show up on a scoreboard.
There is still one week left in April. That's not a countdown, that's an opportunity.
"It's not about the hours you put in, it's about what you put in the hours." β Sam Ewing
A few things worth sitting with as we close out this final week:
- Progress beyond outcomes. An application sent, a connection made, a fear faced, a skill sharpened. These are all forward movement. Train yourself to recognize them.
- Why most job seekers burn out. It's not because the search is too hard. It's because they're measuring themselves against a finish line they can't control, and ignoring every step they're taking to get there.
- Reflection. Discovery. Execution. What has April taught you so far? What do you know now that you didn't know on April 1st? Use that awareness to fuel this final push.
- Lean in this week. The market is moving. Conversations are converting. One intentional action today can change what May looks like entirely.

Truist Foundation Fellowship: The Pitch Is Personal
We're currently in the Pitch block of the fellowship, and it has been one of the most clarifying stretches of the program so far.
This phase is all about learning to frame our story, showcase the impact JSC has had on our community, and demonstrate the broader ecosystem we're building. It's the kind of work that forces you to get clear on not just what you do, but why it matters and who it's for.
And the further we get into it, the more we're reminded of something that hits close to home.
Pitching a business and landing a job are not that different.
Think about it. Finding the right investors is finding the right employer. Showcasing your value is telling your story with confidence. Networking to get in the room is the same whether you're a founder or a job seeker. Building relationships that open doors works the same way at every level.
The fundamentals we teach this community every week are the same fundamentals we're living right now as founders.
That's not a coincidence. That's the work.
We'll continue to share updates as we move through the fellowship. And if anything, this season has deepened our commitment to making sure every tool and framework we bring to JSC is battle tested, not just taught.
That's a wrap!
One week left. Use it.
Not with pressure, but with purpose. The work you've put in this month is compounding quietly, and the best thing you can do right now is stay consistent, stay positive, and finish strong.
May is going to bring new energy and new opportunity. And the JSC community will be right here with you to meet it. Stay tuned for new resources coming soon and details on our next South Florida Hiring Event.
But first, let's finish what we started.
Weβre here with you.
