JSC: April 28, 2026
We're in the final stretch of April β one week left before May flips the page on Q2. Are you ready?
If your inbox is moving faster than your week, you're not alone. So today's note is a short one: a reframe on small reps (the kind that quietly compound), a few takeaways from our time at eMerge, and a quick check-in on where the Truist Fellowship cohort is right now.
OK! Let's get into it.
Mindset Monday: Just 15 Mins
There's a quiet lie running through the job market right now: that the big move β the perfect resume, the dream pitch, the breakthrough connection β is what changes things.
It usually isn't.
What changes things is the rep you almost skipped. The follow-up sent on a Tuesday afternoon when you didn't feel like it. The 10-minute reflection that turned a vague "I want a better role" into "I want a role where I lead, not coordinate."
Small. Repeatable. Almost boring.
None of these are dramatic. That's the point.
The work isn't to find the silver bullet. It's to build a week that, when stacked on the next eleven, becomes a quarter you can stand behind. It could be as little as 15mins a day to change everything.
I keep watching this play out in our community: the people moving forward aren't the ones with more time, more luck, or sharper strategy. They're the ones who show up for the small, unglamorous reps when the bigger move isn't available.
Pick one rep today. That's enough.

Truist Foundation Fellowship: Deep in the Story
We're currently in the Pitch block of the fellowship, and it has been one of the most clarifying stretches of the program so far.
We continue to be deep in pitching and storytelling, just like Job Seekers, understanding and articulating your value and purpose is key in achieving what's next!
Throughout this time, watching this Fellowship group sharpen how they tell their story β concise, specific, real β has been one of the more energizing things on my calendar lately. The shift from "here's what I do" to "here's why it matters and who it's for" is small on paper and massive in practice.
Events: eMerge was excellent!
For those who haven't been, eMerge Americas is one of the largest tech and innovation conferences in the country β held each spring in Miami, it brings together founders, investors, operators, government leaders, and thought leaders from across the U.S., Latin America, and beyond. The energy is part conference, part ecosystem, part proof that South Florida has earned its seat at the global tech table.
I'm genuinely grateful I got to be in the room this year. It's rare to have a few days where I can show up for colleagues, see how their work is landing, and stand alongside them as they build and eMerge gave me exactly that.
I also walked away with a clearer read on what's trending across the industry: where AI is reshaping hiring and product, where capital is moving, and where the talent conversation is headed next.
Most of all, I got to listen and learn from thought leaders from across the world sharing perspectives I wouldn't have stumbled into otherwise. The kind of insights that shift how you think about the next quarter, not just the next week.

That's a wrap!
Pull all three threads together and the shape is the same: small, intentional reps that compound. The fellows in the Truist cohort sharpening their pitch line by line. The hallway conversations at eMerge that turned into real connections. The 15 minutes you'll carve out tomorrow morning before the inbox wins.
That's how a quarter gets built β not in one big move, but in the steady, unglamorous work of showing up for the right small things, week after week.
May is one week away. You don't need a new plan to make it a strong one. You need a rep, a reflection, and the willingness to follow through.
See you next week and, if you're so inclined this week, hit reply and tell me what one rep you're picking. I read every one and share my own rep back!
Weβre here with you.
