There’s a quiet shift happening right now. Have you been noticing?

Unemployment rate is resting at about 4.4% which represents a staggering ~7.4 million  unemployed people in the US as we pushing through the second week in Febuary.

But with stability comes opportunity. This week inside JSC, we’re focusing on one core idea: Define what great looks like, before you move.

- For employers, that means aligning outcomes before posting roles.
- For job seekers, it means clarifying the story before rewriting your resume.
- For our community partners and investors, it means building systems that produce durable wins — not short-term spikes.

Momentum isn’t random. It’s structured.

Key Takeaways from Mindset Monday

This week’s Mindset Monday was a reminder that the event isn’t what defines us — it’s the interpretation. Rejection, silence, or even a tough interview moment only carry the meaning we assign to them, and disciplined interpretation creates composure, confidence, and momentum.

As Viktor Frankl wrote, â€śBetween stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response.”

  • Interpretation is a skill — train it. Every event has three layers: the event, your interpretation, and your emotional response. The pause between them is where professional leverage lives.

As a final capstone to our Hiring For Impact series, JSC has joined with 5 incredible organizations, Miami Tech Works, Miami-Dade College, COOP Miami, The Urban League of Broward County and our newest partner, Northeastern University in Miami,  to bring together a massive Hiring Event! The event will be on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
