JSC: June 1, 2026
We are back. Last week we took a beat for Memorial Day, and before we get into anything else, a quiet thank you to the families who carry the real weight of that day. Your service, and theirs, is not forgotten.
Now, into June. The unofficial start of summer is behind us, the calendar is opening up, and this week's note is a focused one: just a Mindset Monday on triggers, stories, and how to keep moving when the setbacks land.
OK! Let's get into it..
Mindset Monday: Feel It All, But Don't Hand Over the Wheel
We're back from a week off, and this morning's Mindset call sat with something heavy and real. Triggers. The setbacks that show up mid-search. The rejections that arrive after you thought you had crossed the finish line. The silence that lasts too long. All of it deserves to be felt. But none of it deserves to drive.
The throughline of the conversation: separate the facts from the emotions. That is how you keep moving.
A few highlights worth carrying:
- Feel every emotion. Just don't let them take the steering wheel.
- The event itself is rarely the problem. The story you build around it is.
- Your triggers are teachers. They reveal the beliefs and stories that still need your attention.
- Reflection. Discovery. Execution. What triggered you, why it landed so deeply, and what is the next move that serves your future.
- Awareness creates clarity. Clarity creates better action. Action creates the momentum that changes the trajectory of a search.
The move this week: write down your biggest triggers somewhere you can actually see them. Then separate the fact from the story. You are not after perfection. You are after the awareness that lets you keep playing chess instead of checkers.

That's a wrap!
Here is what stays with me from this morning: the work is never about pretending the hard parts didn't happen. It is about refusing to let the hard parts run the whole show. Feel the disappointment. Notice the trigger. Then write down the fact, write down the story, and choose the next move that serves the future you are building.
June is open. The work you put into your awareness this month is what becomes the action that lands you somewhere new this summer. Pick one trigger. Name it. Separate it. Keep moving.
My rep this week is taking a 10-minute walk before responding to anything that lights up my emotions. (Simple, embodied, easy to track.)
Reply back with your rep for the week and I'll personally hold you accountable with an end-of-week check in.
PS: Keep an eye out in the JSC Discord for the June Health and Wellness challenge!
And that's all we've got, just remember: You are further along than you think. The work is working. You got this.
We're here with you.
