Just like Day Light Savings time, this weeks' newsletter had a time adjustment, but better late than never because we've had an exciting week!
Today we're summing up our Mindset Monday, and examining the issue of, assessing your angle or "perspective" on your search because sometimes it really is true that the problem is them, not you. So maybe reframing or pivoting is the right move.
Then we're going to check in on the Hiring for Impact week 1 as this was the kickoff for our Miami Tech Work workshop series. It was an exciting evening of conversation, building and learning about the teams looking to grow their ventures!
Let's dive in!
Mindset Monday Recap: Change the Angle
This week’s conversation centered on a powerful reminder for job seekers: sometimes the problem is not your potential, it’s your perspective. When you’re too close to rejection, silence, or uncertainty, it becomes easy to believe nothing is working. But when you step back, the message often changes. What feels like failure in the moment may actually be feedback, progress, or the start of a better strategy.
Key takeaways:
-
Your job search may have an angle problem, not a talent problem. What you see from one narrow view can distort the full picture of your progress and potential.
-
Networking works best when it becomes relational instead of transactional. Real conversations, curiosity, and consistency often open more doors than asking for help too quickly.
-
Small systems create real momentum. Structured outreach, follow-up habits, community support, and reflection help turn uncertainty into action.
This week’s reminder: the message has not changed, the angle has. Keep stepping back, keep adjusting, and keep moving. Momentum often builds long before results become visible.

Hiring for Impact Week 1: Defining What Great Looks Like
Last week we officially kicked off the Hiring for Impact workshop series in partnership with Miami Tech Works and Miami Dade College, bringing together founders and operators focused on growing their ventures and building strong teams.
The first session centered on a question many companies skip: What problem are you actually trying to solve with this hire?
Participants worked through the Job Requisition Intake framework to clarify the business objective behind the role and align hiring decisions with measurable outcomes like revenue growth, operational efficiency, product development, and customer success.
We also learned more about the Miami Tech Works talent programs, which are building a growing pipeline of skilled local candidates across software development, cybersecurity, UX/UI, Marketing, and data analytics for employers across South Florida.
Next up in Week 2, participants will take the information from their requisition framework and transform it into a clear, compelling job description designed to attract the right candidates.
We’re also excited to welcome Nurdes Gomez from eMed, who will share real-world insight on building and scaling teams from an operator’s perspective.
This is exactly the kind of work that strengthens the ecosystem, connecting employers with talent and creating more intentional hiring across our communities.
That's a wrap!
As we wrap up this week’s update, the theme across the conversations is simple: perspective and intention matter.
For job seekers, sometimes the shift isn’t working harder, instead it’s stepping back, adjusting the angle, and approaching the search with new systems and conversations. Momentum often starts quietly, long before the results show up.
For founders, operators and community partners, great hiring begins with clarity. When we define what success actually looks like, we build stronger teams, healthier companies, and better opportunities for the talent around us.
This is the work we’re excited to keep building within our communities and with all of you.
See you next Monday with more insights, updates and perspectives!
