JSC Newsletter: Nov. 24, 2025
Welcome to this week’s JSC Newsletter!

As we step into Thanksgiving week, I’m reminded of the power of gratitude, one of the values that quietly fuels every win, every pivot, and every moment of progress in our community.
Gratitude isn’t just a feeling; it’s a practice that grounds us, connects us, and reminds us why we continue to show up for ourselves and for each other.
Whether you’re navigating a job search, supporting someone through a transition, building a company, or investing in opportunity, this season gives us space to recognize the strength we’ve built together and the growth still ahead.
This week we're going to touch on some ways to reflect and take action for the thanksgiving week as we get ready to tackle the last month of the year.
Ready? Let's go!
Let's recap from Mindset Monday to start our Thanksgiving Reflections:
-
Gratitude is a baseline, not a bonus. Starting each morning with one simple, grounding truth creates stability and improves your chances of having a successful day by nearly 50%.
-
Your emotions are human, not weaknesses. Anxiety, fogginess, low motivation, and exhaustion after major life events—including layoffs—are normal biological responses, not personal failures. It's ok to lean into those feelings and moments, it doesn't make you weak, it makes you human.
-
You can’t control the economy, recruiters, or timing but you can control your attitude and the foundation you return to. A stable baseline keeps you from burning out on over-motivation.
-
Reflection, discovery, and execution matter most when life feels chaotic. Asking grounding questions like “What opportunity do I have today?” “Who can I support?” “What have I survived that proves I can get through today?” helps pull you out of the fog and into clarity.
-
Small wins compound. Writing things down and capturing your “three wins” builds daily momentum that protects your energy and mindset.
-
Service amplifies gratitude. Even in difficult seasons, leaning into community, helping others navigate their own transitions, giving back to your personal networks, reinforces strength, connection, and purpose.
Call to Action for Thanksgiving Week
This Thanksgiving week, I'm inviting you to take 2 minutes each morning to reset your foundation, calibrate and reflect in a moment of gratitude.
The challenge: write down 1 thing you’re grateful for, 1 person you can show gratitude toward, and 1 small win you intend to create. Lean into community, extend support where you can, and let gratitude be the anchor that steadies your mindset and strengthens your momentum.
Feeling lost? Need some help or accountability? Could benefit from a soundboard or a 1:1 session to explore some of these elements? Book some time: Personalized Workshops+Coaching
That's a wrap!
As we head into the holiday, remember that gratitude isn’t about ignoring the hard things, it’s about recognizing the strength, community, and opportunity that exist alongside them. Whether this season feels light or heavy, you’re not moving through it alone.
We’re grateful for every member of this community, for the way you show up for yourselves and for each other, and for the small wins that are quietly compounding in the background.
Wishing you a grounded, meaningful, and restorative Thanksgiving week.
Cheers,
Tena & Stephen
